Thread Leaved Sundew - Drosera filiformis “Florida All Red”
Sundews produce sticky drops of mucilage, which are used to ensnare insects that are attracted to it. The plant releases enzymes that release nutrients from the prey, which are absorbed by the plant. This is an adaptation to the nutrient-poor substrates which they grow in.
The red variation of D. filiformis found in Florida requires minimal winter dormancy.
